During an appearance on 'The Tonight Show,' Goldberg expressed that the production team is committed to moving forward, despite the loss, stating, 'We will get it done.' Smith's role as Reverend Mother was central to the original films, making her absence a significant factor in the script's revision. Goldberg previously mentioned that she was holding a part for Smith and had invited other stars to join the project. With a history of box office success, both 'Sister Act' and its sequel grossed nearly $357 million combined, the team remains hopeful for a successful continuation of the franchise.
