Netflix to Cut Most Interactive Shows by December

Netflix has announced it will remove nearly all of its interactive titles from its platform by December 1, 2024, leaving only four: Black Mirror: Bandersnatch, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt: Kimmy vs. the Reverend, Ranveer vs. Wild with Bear Grylls, and You vs. Wild. The decision comes after the company ceased production of interactive content earlier this year due to technological limitations, according to spokesperson Chrissy Kelleher. Netflix first ventured into interactive programming in 2017 but has since shifted focus towards mobile gaming and other technological efforts. Many popular interactive titles, such as Puss in Book: Trapped in an Epic Tale and Minecraft: Story Mode, will be delisted. This move marks a disappointing end for a once-promising format that aimed to enhance viewer engagement. Critics are questioning whether the interactive format ever resonated with audiences, suggesting it may have led to viewer fatigue.
