Netflix to produce film about Prince Andrew scandal

Netflix is set to release a drama that recreates Prince Andrew's infamous 2019 interview with the BBC's Emily Maitlis. The film, called 'Scoop', is based on the work of Sam McAlister, who secured the interview and is set to explore the behind-the-scenes events surrounding it. In addition, Sandpaper Films is working with Netflix to produce a documentary on Prince Andrew's 'character arc' from a war hero to the recent scandal over his association with Jeffrey Epstein. The film company, known for working with top streaming services, has already made several films about the British royal family and will be exploring Andrew's fall from grace. Respected author Andrew Lownie is involved in the production and is writing a biography of Prince Andrew and his former wife Sarah Ferguson, focusing on the Duke of York's time as trade envoy.
