Canadian triathlete Tyler Mislawchuk vomited after completing the men's triathlon at the 2024 Paris Olympics, likely due to the physically demanding nature of the event and the questionable water quality of the Seine River. The triathlon, which included a 1.5-km swim, 40-km bike ride, and 10-km run, was postponed from Tuesday to Wednesday due to high levels of E. coli in the river. Despite efforts costing $1.5 billion to clean the river, concerns about water pollution persisted. Britain's Alex Yee won gold, followed by New Zealand's Hayden Wilde and France's Léo Bergere. The event saw numerous athletes struggling at the finish line due to the heat and poor air quality in Paris. Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo had previously swum in the Seine to demonstrate its safety, but the incident has reignited concerns about water quality for upcoming events.
