The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) has intensified its investigation into a visit by Heena Kausar, alleged girlfriend of gangster Abu Salem, and a 65-year-old Kenyan national, Madhati Chatur, to Nashik Road Central Prison. Both individuals were interrogated for over 20 hours after their visit raised suspicions, particularly as their statements about the meeting's purpose differed significantly. Chatur claimed to be visiting another inmate but was found to have accompanied Heena to meet Salem instead. The ATS is exploring the nature of their relationship with Salem, who is serving a sentence for his role in the 1993 Mumbai bomb blasts. Additionally, three other individuals have been detained by the ATS for questioning regarding their own visit to Salem, indicating a broader inquiry into potential criminal activities linked to the gangster from within the prison. As the investigation unfolds, the ATS aims to determine whether these visitors are connected to any ongoing criminal operations.
