The new 'Agents for Slack' feature allows users to interact with AI agents from Salesforce, Asana, Adobe Express, and other partners, aiming to consolidate various tasks and reduce the time spent on low-value activities. These AI agents can perform functions such as drafting emails, providing project insights, and creating content, thus helping users manage their workflows more effectively. Slack's enhancements include AI-powered summaries of meetings, an AI Workflow builder, and improved search capabilities that connect Salesforce CRM data directly to conversations. With the goal of creating an AI-powered work operating system, Slack is also expanding its partnerships with companies like Adobe and Anthropic to integrate their AI agents into the platform. Slack plans to make these features widely available by early 2025, with a separate fee structure for users accessing AI capabilities.
