Kiel Post Office Renamed for Trooper Trevor Casper

The U.S. House of Representatives has passed legislation to rename the post office in Greenland, New Hampshire, after late Police Chief Michael Maloney, who was killed in the line of duty just days before his retirement in 2012. This bill, sponsored by Rep. Chris Pappas, aims to honor Maloney's 26 years of service in law enforcement and his dedication to the community. Similarly, the post office in Kiel, Wisconsin, will be renamed the Trooper Trevor J. Casper Post Office Building to honor Trooper Casper, who was fatally shot during his first solo assignment in 2015 at the age of 21. Congressman Glenn Grothman led the bipartisan effort to pass this legislation, which was signed into law by President Biden. Both renaming ceremonies are expected to take place at a later date, recognizing the sacrifices made by these law enforcement officers.
