Monty Don Designs Dog Garden for Chelsea Show

Monty Don is set to design his first garden at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, focused on creating a dog-friendly space in collaboration with the RHS and BBC Radio 2. Titled the RHS and Radio 2 Dog Garden, the project aims to celebrate the bond between dogs and their owners, featuring a well-manicured lawn and shaded areas for dogs to relax and play. The garden will not compete for awards but is intended to inspire dog owners to create their own green havens, reflecting Don's love for his pets, including his golden retriever Ned and Yorkshire terrier Patti. Jo Whiley from Radio 2 will support the garden by curating a dog-themed playlist to enhance the atmosphere. After the show, the garden will be relocated to Battersea Dogs & Cats Home, ensuring its legacy continues. RHS director Clare Matterson emphasizes the initiative's goal of inclusivity for all types of gardeners, including dog lovers.
