Travel Trends 2025 Highlight Asia's Popularity

A recent report by ABTA highlights a significant rise in adventurous travel for 2025, with 34.2% of travelers planning trips outside Europe and North America. Asia is anticipated to attract the largest number of visitors, particularly to Japan and Thailand, with a notable increase in luxury accommodations among Gen Z travelers. Concurrently, the Global Hotel Alliance's data shows that Japan and Thailand remain the top destinations for its members, while China has surged to third place. Leisure travel continues to dominate, with 99% of members planning vacations, and business travel is rebounding, particularly among travelers from China, Germany, and Spain. A shift towards relaxation as the primary travel motivation is noted, surpassing the trend of exploring new destinations. Additionally, loyalty programs are increasingly favored for hotel bookings as travelers seek quality accommodations while managing costs in a challenging economic climate.
