Chuck E. Cheese Opens 10 Adult Arcades Across US

Chuck E. Cheese has launched a new concept called "Chuck's Arcade," targeting adults and nostalgic gamers by combining classic retro arcade games like Ms. Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat, and Donkey Kong with modern titles such as Halo and Jurassic Park. These arcade-only locations, overseen by animatronic characters from the brand's past, are currently open in malls across multiple states including Connecticut, Texas, Missouri, and New Hampshire, with plans for more openings soon. While most locations focus on gaming, the Kansas City site also offers food and alcoholic beverages, whereas others like the Trumbull, Connecticut arcade do not serve food or alcohol. This strategic pivot toward adult consumers comes as part of Chuck E. Cheese's recovery following its 2020 bankruptcy and extensive remodeling of its traditional family entertainment centers. CEO David McKillips emphasized that the new arcades represent a natural evolution of the company's legacy, aiming to engage both lifelong fans and new generations through a curated mix of nostalgic and cutting-edge gaming experiences. The initiative reflects growing interest in retro gaming and the company’s effort to expand beyond its traditional family-oriented market.
