Nebraska Football Rallies; Volleyball Sweeps Rutgers
Nebraska rallied to a 38-27 victory over Michigan State at Memorial Stadium, pulling away in the fourth quarter. Emmett Johnson rushed for three touchdowns, a blocked punt was returned for a special-teams score, and Nyziah Hunter’s 59-yard screen run helped seal the win. Quarterback Dylan Raiola completed 16-of-24 for 194 yards with a touchdown but was sacked five times and threw a key interception, and observers cited inconsistent pass protection and a limited power run game. Michigan State’s Aidan Chiles rushed for two touchdowns but struggled through the air (9-of-23, 85 yards) and threw two interceptions, and MSU’s special-teams miscues and turnovers — including poor punt protection/returns and a kickoff fumble — proved costly. Nebraska’s defense recorded five sacks and tightened up in the second half to help the Cornhuskers pull away. Separately, Nebraska volleyball finished its East Coast trip with a fifth straight 3-0 sweep of Rutgers (25-17, 25-15, 25-16) and will host Washington next week.
