Ripple Acquires Palisade to Boost Institutional Custody

Ripple has acquired Palisade and will integrate Palisade’s wallet-as-a-service into Ripple Custody and Ripple Payments to broaden its institutional custody and payments capabilities. Palisade brings an MPC-based, zero-trust wallet architecture with multi-blockchain and DeFi interoperability plus flexible APIs for fast on/off-ramps, enabling banks, fintechs, crypto-native firms and corporates to use Ripple’s end-to-end custody, treasury and payment stack. Ripple says the combined offering will support high-speed use cases, global transfers and institutional OTC access, positioning the company to compete across digital finance infrastructure as clients scale crypto adoption. The acquisition is part of an aggressive M&A push — Ripple says it has invested roughly $4 billion into the crypto ecosystem this year, including purchases of Hidden Road, Rail and GTreasury — and follows easing regulatory pressure after the SEC’s long-running case against Ripple. Financial terms were not disclosed.
