Imran Khan Applies for Oxford Chancellor Role

Jailed former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan has applied to become the next chancellor of Oxford University, despite facing numerous charges that he claims are politically motivated. Khan, who graduated from Oxford in 1975 with a degree in philosophy, politics, and economics, aims to replace Chris Patten, the outgoing chancellor. Sayed Zulfikar Bukhari, Khan's spokesman, confirmed the application, noting that it is a prestigious ceremonial role. The list of candidates will be revealed in October, with voting scheduled for the end of the month. Khan, who served as Pakistan's Prime Minister from 2018 to 2022, has been in prison for over a year and remains a controversial figure with a diverse career spanning cricket, philanthropy, and politics.
