Steven Knight's House of Guinness Premieres in London
Netflix staged a whisky-barrel–themed UK premiere for its eight-part period drama House of Guinness at London’s Picturehouse Central ahead of its September 25, 2025 release. Created by Steven Knight and set in late‑19th‑century Dublin and New York, the series follows the four heirs of Sir Benjamin Guinness as they battle over his will amid social unrest and republican agitation. The ensemble cast includes Anthony Boyle, Louis Partridge, Emily Fairn, Niamh McCormack, Fionn O’Shea, James Norton, Dervla Kirwan, Jack Gleeson and Danielle Galligan. Several real-life Guinness descendants — including Lady Mary Charteris, Daphne Guinness, Lord Ned Iveagh, Ivana Lowell, Jasmine and Celeste Guinness — attended and drew attention for eccentric fashion on the brown carpet. Critics note the drama is inspired by true events and may dramatize aspects of the family’s history.
