Max Healthcare Acquires 64% Stake in Jaypee Healthcare
Max Healthcare Institute Ltd. has secured board approval for a strategic collaboration with the Lakshdeep Group to acquire a 64% stake in Jaypee Healthcare Ltd. (JHL) for an enterprise value of Rs 1,660 crore. This acquisition, which includes the flagship 500-bed Jaypee Hospital in Noida, is part of JHL's Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (CIRP) and is expected to be finalized within 30 days. Max Healthcare plans to organize debt repayment for JHL's financial creditors while also holding options to purchase the remaining 36% stake. The deal encompasses two operational hospitals and one non-operational facility, enhancing Max's presence in the National Capital Region (NCR), a significant economic hub. JHL reported revenue of Rs 421 crore and an EBITDA of Rs 70 crore for the fiscal year 2023-24. Max Healthcare's Chairman Abhay Soi emphasized the importance of this acquisition for expanding healthcare services in the region.
