Hesai Provides AT128 LiDAR for Didi, GAC Aion L4 Robotaxi
Hesai Group's AT128 lidar sensors have been selected as the core perception technology for the first production-ready Level 4 Robotaxi, jointly developed by Didi Autonomous Driving and GAC Aion. The Robotaxi, set for mass production this year and initial deployment in 2026, integrates four AT128 sensors to achieve 360-degree blind-spot-free awareness, processing 1.53 million data points per second with a detection range of up to 200 meters. Overall, the vehicle incorporates 33 sensors using a heterogeneous sensor fusion architecture for real-time, comprehensive situational awareness. This project is the result of a multi-year strategic collaboration, combining GAC Aion’s safety redundancy platform with Didi’s advanced hardware and full-stack autonomous driving software. The deployment underscores the synergy between cutting-edge lidar innovation and autonomous driving systems, aiming to enhance safety and operational reliability in complex environments.
