Mark Arbib appointed AOC CEO ahead of 2032 Olympics

Mark Arbib has been appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Olympic Committee (AOC), set to lead the organization into the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. With over three decades of leadership experience in sports administration, Arbib has been on the AOC executive committee since 2016 and previously served as the Federal Sports Minister and president of Athletics Australia. AOC president Ian Chesterman praised Arbib's extensive experience and passion for sports, expressing confidence in his ability to lead effectively. Arbib will take over from Matt Carroll, who has been in the role for eight years, at the upcoming annual general meeting.
