Florida Father Faces Felony Child Neglect After Autistic Son Found Naked on Interstate Ramp During Uber Eats Delivery

Jeremy Jaron Rouse, a 35-year-old Uber Eats driver in Florida, has been charged with felony child abuse after allegedly leaving his young, nonverbal son with autism unattended. The boy was found naked and alone on an Interstate 4 entrance ramp by two bystanders who chased him down before he could reach traffic. Despite realizing his son was missing, Rouse reportedly continued making deliveries to avoid damaging his Uber Eats rating, and expressed fear of arrest if he returned to the scene. The boy's mother fell asleep during the delivery route and only noticed the child was missing after waking up. The Florida Department of Children and Families has launched an investigation into the incident. Authorities have not disclosed the boy's age, and both Uber Eats and local police have been contacted for comments.
