Meta Unveils Orion AR Glasses Prototype and Quest 3S

At the Meta Connect 2024 event, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg unveiled Orion, an advanced prototype of augmented reality (AR) glasses. Described as the 'most advanced glasses the world has ever seen,' Orion integrates holographic displays, AI voice assistance, hand and eye tracking, and a neural interface wristband for control. These glasses are designed to blend digital content seamlessly with the physical world, featuring a 70-degree field of view and lightweight, transparent lenses. Despite significant production costs currently estimated at $10,000 per unit, Meta plans to refine the technology for a future consumer release. Additionally, Meta introduced the Quest 3S mixed reality headset and upgrades to its Ray-Ban smart glasses, highlighting its commitment to AI and next-generation computing platforms.
