Paul Jinks Sentenced to 8 Years for Attempted Rape in Long Eaton

John Harvey, 25, was found guilty of raping a woman twice in Shrewsbury after approaching her in the early hours of July 7, 2022. He was apprehended hiding in the men's toilets at Shrewsbury Railway Station shortly after the attack. Meanwhile, Paul Jinks, 21, was captured on CCTV stalking a woman in Long Eaton, Derbyshire, before attempting to rape her on July 14, 2022. Jinks was arrested ten days later and sentenced to eight years and nine months in prison for his crime, as well as being placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life. The victim expressed lasting fear and anxiety, stating she feels unsafe going out alone. Both cases highlight the ongoing issue of sexual violence and the bravery of the victims in coming forward.
