BBC Releases King and Conqueror Series August 24 U.K.

King & Conqueror, a new eight-episode historical drama series, will premiere on BBC One and BBC iPlayer on August 24, 2025, with all episodes available for binge-watching from 6 a.m. that day. The series dramatizes the events leading up to the Battle of Hastings in 1066, focusing on the complex relationship and rivalry between Harold Godwinson, the last Anglo-Saxon King of England, and William of Normandy, the future Conqueror. Starring James Norton as Harold and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as William, the show emphasizes political intrigue, psychological warfare, and power struggles rather than nonstop battle scenes.
