Kerala Government Awards PR Sreejesh Rs 2 Crore

The Kerala government has awarded a cash prize of Rs 2 crore to PR Sreejesh, the former Indian hockey goalkeeper, following his pivotal role in the team’s bronze medal victory at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan announced the reward after Sreejesh's remarkable performances throughout the tournament, which included decisive saves that contributed to India's success. Sreejesh, who retired from international hockey after the Olympics, will now serve as the head coach of the junior men's hockey team. His illustrious career includes two Olympic medals and several other accolades, reflecting his long-standing commitment to the sport. Upon his return to Kerala, Sreejesh received a hero's welcome from fans and officials alike. His first assignment as coach will be at the Sultan of Johor Cup in October.
