2 Men Charged After Shooting at Philadelphia Officers in West Philadelphia

Two men, Nathaniel Smith and Khalil Flowers, were arrested and charged after shooting at Philadelphia police officers during a high-speed chase in West Philadelphia. The incident occurred when officers in an unmarked vehicle attempted to stop a car driving erratically and the wrong way on a one-way street near Morse Street. Smith, who was a passenger, fired shots at the officers, leading to a chase and a foot pursuit after the vehicle was forced to stop. Police found a 9mm firearm, fired cartridge casings, crack cocaine, and marijuana in the vehicle. Smith faces multiple charges including assault of a law enforcement officer and possession with intent to distribute drugs, while Flowers is charged with recklessly endangering another person, possession with intent to distribute, and conspiracy. A third suspect remains at large, and authorities have not released that person's description.
