Paul Bissonnette Attacked by Group in Scottsdale
Former NHL player Paul Bissonnette was assaulted by a group of seven men in Scottsdale, Arizona, while attempting to protect restaurant staff from harassment on November 24. Video footage released by the Scottsdale Police Department shows Bissonnette being attacked in a parking lot, where he fought back against the six men who surrounded him. Following the incident, six suspects were arrested and charged with assault and disorderly conduct, while one suspect, Sean Daley, also faced charges for possession of a forged instrument. Bissonnette, who sustained non-life-threatening injuries, expressed his frustration about the altercation, emphasizing that he would have acted the same way again. He described the attackers as 'a bunch of drunk golfers' and indicated that this was not the end of the matter. The public response to the incident has been significant, with many praising Bissonnette's bravery in confronting the group.
