Uber, May Mobility Partner to Deploy Thousands of AVs in Arlington by 2025

Uber and May Mobility have announced a multi-year partnership to deploy thousands of autonomous vehicles (AVs) on Uber's ride-hailing platform, beginning in Arlington, Texas by the end of 2025. Initially, these hybrid-electric Toyota Sienna vehicles will operate with onboard safety drivers before transitioning to fully driverless service. After Arlington, the companies plan to expand to additional U.S. markets in 2026. May Mobility, backed by Toyota and BMW, brings its proprietary Multi-Policy Decision Making technology, designed for real-time, human-like navigation, to the collaboration. This partnership is non-exclusive for both companies, with May Mobility also working with Lyft and Uber already partnering with other AV firms to broaden consumer access to self-driving rides. The deal aims to accelerate the commercial rollout of AV technology and provide riders with more transportation options.
