Teenager shot dead in Tottenham gang feud linked to social media humiliation

During a court trial, it was revealed that Tanesha Melbourne-Blake, a 17-year-old girl, was shot dead in a gang-related attack in Tottenham in 2018, which was reportedly a retaliation for a social media humiliation faced by a rival gang member. The prosecutor stated that Tanesha may not have been the intended target when she was shot while standing with friends on Chalgrove Road. The accused, Marcus La Croix and Michael Clarke, allegedly sought revenge following an earlier assault on La Croix by members of the Northumberland Park gang. The court heard that the shooting, which resulted in Tanesha's death from internal injuries, followed a long-standing feud between rival gangs. Jurors were shown CCTV footage of La Croix's public humiliation just prior to the attack. Both La Croix and Clarke deny the charges of murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
