Wisk Aero Partners with Airservices Australia on Air Taxis

Wisk Aero and Airservices Australia have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to collaborate on integrating Wisk's autonomous air taxi technology into Australian airspace, particularly ahead of the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. The partnership aims to develop air traffic management standards for advanced air mobility (AAM) systems, sharing expertise through workshops and simulations. Airservices Australia anticipates that up to one million air taxi flights could occur annually by 2043, highlighting growth potential in this sector. Wisk's all-electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft is designed for urban transport and aims to achieve autonomous flight with human oversight. The collaboration seeks to address regulatory challenges and safety concerns associated with autonomous air travel. Both organizations emphasize the importance of understanding industry needs and technological hurdles to ensure successful integration of AAM solutions in Australia.
