Orlando City SC has officially transferred forward Facundo Torres to Brazilian club Palmeiras for a club-record fee reported to be between $12 million and $14 million. Torres, who joined Orlando City in January 2022 from Peñarol, leaves as the franchise's all-time leading scorer with 47 goals and 25 assists across 123 matches. His contributions include guiding the team to their first major trophy, the 2022 U.S. Open Cup, and reaching the Eastern Conference Final in 2024. Orlando's general manager Luiz Muzzi expressed gratitude for Torres' impact, highlighting the club's success in developing young talent. Torres signed a five-year deal with Palmeiras, ensuring his stay until 2029.
