Free Vivaldi Guitar Concert at Buenos Aires MUNAL May 17

Several upcoming and recent events and releases celebrate the artistry and versatility of classical and nylon-string guitar music. On May 17, MUNAL will host a free concert, Latido armónico, featuring the Cuarteto Orishas performing works by composers including Vivaldi, inviting attendees to experience rich soundscapes in a historic setting. Internationally acclaimed Italian guitarist Carlotta Dalia has released her album Segovia, interpreting lesser-known works associated with Andrés Segovia on a rare 1939 Herman Hauser I guitar, highlighting the guitar's expressive power. The UK-based Mēla Guitar Quartet released an album focused on theatrical compositions originally for opera, ballet, and dance, showcasing the guitar quartet’s intricate synchronicity and resonance. Instrument craftsmanship is highlighted with Manuel Rodriguez’s classical guitars, the Academia AC60 and Magistral D-S models, both designed for fingerstyle expression with ergonomic features and premium tonewoods to support professional performance. Additionally, Milwaukee Musaik’s spring chamber music season concludes with a program titled “Guitar Grandmaster,” featuring virtuoso René Izquierdo performing guitar concertos spanning centuries, including works by Ottorino Respighi and Antonio Vivaldi, emphasizing orchestral color and guitar virtuosity.
