Police Warn Drivers of Vehicle Thefts in Peterborough, Cuckfield
Police in Peterborough have issued warnings to drivers following a recent increase in vehicle thefts, with 48 incidents reported between March 21 and April 22. The eastern sector of the city, as well as the city centre, Eastfield, and Dogsthorpe areas, saw the highest number of reported crimes. Offences included vehicles left unlocked, smashed windows, and even windows left open, with stolen items ranging from sweets and cigarettes to valuables such as wallets, phones, and iPads. Authorities are urging drivers to keep vehicles locked, ensure all windows are shut, and remove valuables or evidence of valuables from sight, even when leaving vehicles for a short time. Police are continuing their investigation and encourage the public to report suspicious activity or provide video footage to aid their efforts.
