His performance follows a remarkable series of scores, including 14.33 in Round 3, which is the highest ever recorded by an Indian surfer in this competition. Meanwhile, Harish Muthu also made significant strides by reaching the quarterfinals in the men's open category, where he finished third with a score of 6.76. Both surfers are competing in a qualifying event for the 2026 Asian Games held in Thulusdhoo, Maldives.
