The Pima County Sheriff’s Department has identified a homicide victim found in 2012 as Frederick Dale Huddleston, thanks to genealogical research conducted by the FBI. Huddleston's remains were discovered near I-10 and Craycroft on December 18, 2012, but the condition of the remains delayed identification until July 2024. He had been experiencing homelessness and was known to travel across several states, with his last known contact occurring in December 2008. The Sheriff’s Department is now seeking public assistance to gather more information about Huddleston's life and circumstances surrounding his death, which remains unsolved. This case is part of approximately 180 cold cases the department is currently handling, with a significant portion involving unidentified victims. Authorities urge anyone with relevant information to contact the Homicide & Cold Case Unit to aid in their investigation.
