Marquette Doctor, Wife Charged with Child Abuse for Locking Son in Closet

Dr. Colin Irish and his wife Carrie have been arrested and charged with second-degree child abuse after allegedly locking their 10-year-old special needs son in a closet for several hours daily over several months. Authorities found that the child was forced to sleep on the closet floor without a mattress, blanket, or proper clothing, and was made to clean up his own waste. The closet lacked heating and windows, and was modified to prevent the child from escaping. All three of their minor children have been removed from the home by Child Protective Services and placed in foster care.
