Three Injured in Daylight Shooting Sydney Auburn, Police Launch Major Investigation

Three people were injured in a brazen daylight shooting in Sydney's western suburb of Auburn, outside a kebab shop near the railway station. The victims—a 26-year-old man shot in the arm and shoulder, another man shot in the face, and a 50-year-old female shop employee wounded in the torso—were treated at Westmead Hospital. Police believe the attack involved two masked gunmen who fired eight shots before fleeing in a black BMW with cloned plates, and the 26-year-old man had previously survived two attempts on his life. The incident is part of a recent surge in violent shootings linked to warring criminal gangs, prompting the deployment of Taskforce Falcon, a large police unit with around 150 officers dedicated to curbing gun violence. Authorities condemned the attack as unacceptable and emphasized that those responsible would face lengthy jail sentences. Premier Chris Minns and Police Minister Yasmin Catley expressed solidarity with the victims and vowed to restore community safety amid ongoing investigations.
