Two Arrested in Cupertino Meat Theft
Two suspects were arrested in Cupertino after allegedly stealing over $1,200 worth of meat from a Safeway store on Homestead Road. The Santa Clara County Sheriff's Office was notified on December 28, 2024, after a store employee observed the theft and recorded the getaway car's license plate. Deputies traced the suspects to an address linked to the vehicle, where they recovered the stolen meats and other groceries. The suspects, aged 39 and 34, both from San Jose, have been charged with grand theft and conspiracy. The sheriff's office praised the alertness of the Safeway employee, whose quick actions helped resolve the case. Both suspects are currently detained at the Santa Clara County Main Jail.
