Derek Curiel Leads LSU to 12-2 Victory Over Tennessee

LSU clinched a key SEC baseball series over No. 5 Tennessee with a dominant 12-2 victory in the deciding game, thanks in large part to freshman Derek Curiel’s outstanding performance. Curiel went 4-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, and five RBIs in the finale, helping LSU rally from an early deficit and break the series tie. After having his 43-game on-base streak snapped the day before, Curiel bounced back to lead LSU’s offensive outburst and was later named SEC Freshman of the Week for his efforts.
