Tyrrell Hatton to Compete in Team Cup

Tyrrell Hatton, the only LIV Golf player participating, will compete for Great Britain & Ireland in the Team Cup, a Ryder Cup warm-up event in Abu Dhabi from January 10-12, under the guidance of Europe captain Luke Donald. Hatton's participation emphasizes his commitment to the Ryder Cup, which takes place in September at Bethpage Black. The Team Cup, aimed at preparing European players for the Ryder Cup, features notable captains Francesco Molinari and Justin Rose, with the final team selections to be made after the Nedbank Golf Challenge on December 8. Hatton's inclusion is seen as a positive sign of integration between LIV Golf players and the European circuit. This event serves as a critical match-play experience, having previously helped players secure spots in the Ryder Cup. Notably, Jon Rahm will not participate, while other former Ryder Cup players like Tommy Fleetwood and Nicolai Hojgaard will also compete.
