Heavy rainfall and landslides in Nepal have caused significant disruptions to multiple roadways, though some have since been reopened. In Makawanpur, traffic has resumed on several key routes including Hetauda-Bhaise and Hetauda-Sindhuli following debris removal, while others remain blocked due to ongoing landslides. The Koshi Barrage bridge along the East-West Highway has also reopened as water levels recede after record flooding. The Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport is working to restore 41 roads impacted by landslides and floods, with reports indicating initial success in reopening many of them. However, challenges persist, particularly in the Kathmandu Valley where traffic management remains complicated by damaged infrastructure. Ongoing efforts are being made to clear remaining obstructions and restore full connectivity throughout the affected regions.
