UTSA Wins Myrtle Beach Bowl 44-15
The UTSA Roadrunners achieved a decisive 44-15 victory over Coastal Carolina in the Myrtle Beach Bowl, marking the largest margin of victory in the event's history. Quarterback Owen McCown excelled, throwing for 254 yards and a touchdown while also rushing for 37 yards and another score, earning MVP honors. With this win, UTSA finished the season at 7-6, while Coastal Carolina, plagued by transfers, ended with a 6-7 record after struggling offensively. The Roadrunners dominated both in the air and on the ground, outgaining the Chanticleers 513 to 271 yards, and their defense recorded four sacks and 10 tackles for loss. Coastal Carolina's quarterback Tad Hudson, making his first start, managed to throw for two touchdowns but could not lead his team to compete effectively. This victory marks UTSA's second consecutive bowl win under head coach Jeff Traylor.
