Micheal Ward Charged With Rape, Sexual Assault

Micheal Ward, the BAFTA Rising Star Award winner in 2020 and star of 'Top Boy' and 'Eddington,' has been charged by London's Metropolitan Police with two counts of rape and three counts of sexual assault, all connected to allegations made by one woman regarding an incident in January 2023. Ward, born in Jamaica, has denied all charges and stated he has fully cooperated with authorities, expressing confidence in the legal process. The Crown Prosecution Service authorized the charges after reviewing evidence, and officials have emphasized the importance of a fair trial, warning against prejudicial commentary. Ward is expected to appear at Thames Magistrates' Court on August 28. His UK management company, Olivia Bell Management, has dropped him, while his US agency, CAA, has not commented. Specialist officers continue to support the woman involved as the investigation continues.
