Hornets Launch NBA's First Black Excellence Jersey

The Charlotte Hornets have launched the NBA’s first-ever Black Excellence jersey, named “Home Is Where The Harte Is,” designed by local digital designer Mike Jones. This jersey honors the lasting impact of prominent Black neighborhoods in Charlotte, featuring gold text with names such as Brooklyn Village and Beatties Ford, replacing traditional pinstripes. The design incorporates gold accents symbolizing its significance in Black culture, alongside dogwood petals representing North Carolina's state flower. The jersey aims to inspire future generations and showcase the city's rich Black history and resilience. Available exclusively in the Hornets Fan Shop starting February 7, the jersey reflects a commitment to community engagement and innovation within the organization. Hornets' executives expressed pride in the collaboration that brought this unique concept to life, emphasizing its cultural importance.
