In a tragic incident in Mohtara village, Chhattisgarh's Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, seven men were killed and three others injured after being struck by lightning while working in a field on Sunday evening. The victims had gathered at the edge of a pond during heavy rainfall when the lightning struck. The deceased have been identified as Mukesh (20), Tankar Sahu (30), Santosh Sahu (40), Thaneshwar Sahu (18), Pokhraj Vishwakarma (38), Dev Das (22), and Vijay Sahu (23). The injured individuals were immediately hospitalized. Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed condolences and promised support for the injured. The incident coincides with a warning of extremely heavy rainfall from the India Meteorological Department.
