Chinese Tourists Arrested for Filming Public Sex in Pattaya

A Chinese couple, Oh Zhihang, 67, and Lin Tingting, 37, were arrested in Pattaya, Thailand after filming themselves having sex on a public sidewalk on April 9. The act, which took place near the entrance to the popular Walking Street, was witnessed by passers-by and reported by a security guard who took photos as evidence. Police apprehended the couple at their hotel, where Oh claimed he was unaware that public sex was illegal, stating he was a photographer accustomed to nude photoshoots in various countries. Both individuals expressed remorse, apologizing for their actions and the impact on Pattaya's tourism image. They face fines of up to 5,000 Baht for public indecency and could potentially face up to 10 years in prison if found guilty of distributing explicit content. Authorities are urging tourists to respect local laws and regulations, especially during upcoming events like the Songkran Festival.
