Joliet Man Kills Wife, Dies in Domestic Shooting
Joliet police say a 40-year-old man fatally shot his 40-year-old wife and then died by an apparent self-inflicted gunshot Monday morning at a home in the 1800 block of Burshire Court in suburban Plainfield, with officers responding around 5:49–5:50 a.m.; one outlet reported the street name as “Burnshite.” The Kendall County Coroner’s Office identified the couple as Jennifer and Ryan Heit. Police found the man in the front yard and the woman inside the residence, recovered a handgun, and described the shooting as domestic-related. Four children, ages 3 to 16, were found unharmed, taken into protective custody and later released to another family member. The Joliet Police Department is handling the investigation and is asking anyone with information to contact its Investigation Division; outlets reiterated suicide and crisis resources (988).
