Avengers: Doomsday Production Wraps, Doom Armor Teased

Production on the first Avengers: Doomsday film has wrapped, and Simu Liu has described the project as a love letter to the superhero genre aimed at misfits and underdogs. The Russo Brothers’ two-part Multiverse Saga finale is shaping up as a mega crossover reportedly uniting the Avengers, Wakandans, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts and X‑Men, and is said to feature Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom alongside Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Mackie, Vanessa Kirby and Paul Rudd. High-resolution images and merchandise teases have revealed a comic-faithful Doctor Doom armor with insignias that hint at links to other heroes, and AGBO teasers and on-set costume sightings (including Sue Storm and Franklin Richards) have fueled speculation of an Iron Man–Doom connection and a possible Secret Wars–style storyline. Fans and pundits are trading multiverse theories — including ones invoking Doctor Strange — to explain RDJ’s dual association with Tony Stark and Victor von Doom. Marvel’s comics are running a Doom-centric era that culminates with One World Under Doom #9 on Nov. 19, 2025 and a Dungeons of Doom miniseries in early 2026; the film is currently slated for Dec. 18, 2026, though some outlets have listed Dec. 18, 2025.
