Sonic 3 Concept Art Hints Jim Carrey's Return in Sonic 4

Paramount Pictures has unveiled new concept art for Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which hints at Dr. Robotnik's potential return in Sonic the Hedgehog 4, alongside Metal Sonic. The art features a scene that was cut from the final film, where Robotnik is seen with Metal Sonic, raising speculation about their roles in the upcoming sequel. Director Jeff Fowler indicated that while it's too early to confirm Jim Carrey's return as Robotnik, he expressed pride in the work done on the trilogy thus far and acknowledged ongoing discussions about character development. Fowler also mentioned that fan interest in introducing the character Silver into the franchise is being considered. Sonic the Hedgehog 4 is scheduled for release in spring 2027, with the storyline expected to deepen, incorporating elements from the games as well as the post-credits setups from Sonic 3.
