Unsettled U.S. Weather Shifts to Warm, Dry Pattern
Unsettled weather is affecting much of the U.S. through midweek, with showers and thunderstorms bringing heavy rainfall and cooler temperatures to regions including Massachusetts, Washington, D.C., Wisconsin, Ohio, Pittsburgh, Oklahoma, and Southeast Texas. The Northeast and Mid-Atlantic face rain and possible thunderstorms Wednesday into Thursday, followed by a brief dry spell and another round of rain for the weekend. The Midwest should see rain tapering off by Thursday, leading to sunnier, warmer conditions through the weekend and into next week. Southeast Texas is at moderate risk for excessive rainfall from ongoing storms. Most regions are expected to transition to drier and warmer weather early next week, with more typical summer conditions returning by early June. Outdoor plans may be disrupted in the short term, but improvement is forecast across much of the country.
