Darth Vader Lightsaber Expected to Fetch Millions at Los Angeles Auction

The iconic lightsaber used by Darth Vader in the original Star Wars films, specifically The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, is set to be auctioned with an estimated value up to £2.2 million (over $2.7 million). This 1-foot prop, originally a modified 1950s camera flash bulb attachment, was wielded by actor David Prowse and stunt performer Bob Anderson during filming and is considered one of the rarest and most sought-after Star Wars props with confirmed screen use. The lightsaber will be part of a larger auction by Propstore in Los Angeles, featuring more than 1,000 film props and costumes valued at an estimated £7.5 million, including Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man suit, Michael Keaton’s Batsuit, Harrison Ford’s Indiana Jones bullwhip, and items from the Harry Potter series.
