New Braunfels Army Recruiter Arrested for Teen Sex Crimes, Police Seek More Victims
Marcel Ian Moreno, a 25-year-old U.S. Army recruiter from New Braunfels, Texas, has been arrested and charged with the second-degree felony of Sexual Performance of a Child after allegedly using his role to pursue intimate relationships with underage girls he met at high school recruiting events. The nearly month-long investigation, conducted by the New Braunfels Police Department in partnership with the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Division, identified three victims so far, including a 17-year-old girl from New Braunfels High School. Moreno was arrested at Fort Sam Houston on June 6, 2025, and released after posting a $50,000 bond. Authorities believe there may be additional victims and are urging anyone with information to come forward. The U.S. Army is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation, and further charges may be pending as detectives continue their inquiries. Specific details are being withheld to protect the integrity of the investigation and to assess the validity of additional claims.
