Novo Nordisk, Hims & Hers Expand Wegovy Access

Novo Nordisk has expanded access to its weight-loss drug Wegovy by partnering with telehealth companies Hims & Hers, Ro, and LifeMD, selling the medication at discounted rates through platforms such as NovoCare Pharmacy. Following the FDA's official declaration of the end of the semaglutide shortage, there is now a crackdown on compounded versions of GLP-1 drugs, prompting telehealth providers to shift toward branded medications. Hims & Hers offers Wegovy bundled with support services and membership for $599 per month, while Novo Nordisk makes it available to uninsured patients for $499 per month. These collaborations aim to provide seamless and more affordable access to weight-loss treatments as compounded alternatives become less available. Both companies view the partnerships as steps toward more consumer-centered healthcare and plan to expand their collaboration to improve outcomes for chronic disease patients.
